Working Weekends

Published on April 2, 2006 by firstclassconsultant

A consultant’s worst nightmare - canceling their first class ticket to some exotic babe-filled tropical location to drudge away the weekend getting that unmistakable CRT-screen tan. Luckily, your friends at GDiFC have come up with a plan to make the most of your unexpected weekend away from home:

  • Train your mind and your company’s corporate card for Unlimited expenses kung fu - hey, you’re working the weekend, treat yourself extra nice. This includes but is not limited to: a) applying a 5-15x expense budget multiplier, try out that new Steak restaurant that you always overhear the partners talking about b) moving from the Shitraton to the St. Regis, c) inviting all your local friends out to a massive client-sponsored feast and d) working approximately 15 minutes the whole weekend.
  • Fly some honey in to visit you and impress them with a. Bonus points if she’s flies in on first class.
  • No pathetic clients whining in your ear 24×7 about specifications and deadlines - yo homez, I’ll deliver this to you when I’m done blogging/surfing the net/downloading/getting drunk in first class.

So next time you detect a senior manager swooping down for that inevitable weekend work request, don’t tense up, volunteer to take one for the team and then show them who’s really boss.
